Why hello there!
G'day! What can I do for you?
I'd like to know more about you.
Well sure, pull up a stool, enjoy a fresh beverage, and let's get acquainted.
Who are you and why am I here?
Well, my name is Mike Wiacek. I'm a photographer (obviously) but I'm also a software engineer. I live in Silicon Valley, between San Francisco and San Jose, with my beautiful and wonderful wife Sara, my son, my cat, and my new puppy.
As to why you're here, I really can't answer that. I hope it's to express an interest in my photography, but if you're looking for some deeper more philosophical answer, let's just say: To make the world better than you found it.
How do I express an interest in your photography?
Oooh, that's easy, head on over to my Purchase Page and see how you can buy a print.
Ahh, there is the sales pitch...
No way. Photography is a hobby of mine. It's a passion that I love. It's not my day job and I don't want it to become one. That said, I like to make my photography a self sustaining endeavour. Equipment is expensive and travel is expensive. If I can sell a few prints here and there, that's icing on the cake.
Are your prints expensive?
Nope. I don't want them to be. I'm not looking to profiteer. If I can break even, it's a win. I take more pride in knowing people are enjoying my images in their homes and offices.
Do you shoot weddings? Dogs? Aliens?
I shoot anything and everything. I've shot weddings, kids, family reunions, and even some commercial work. But, I really like getting to travel and shoot landscapes, so that's what you'll find here. If you'd like to talk to me about something other than landscape photography, drop me a line.
Okay, how do I contact you?
E-mail is always the fastest way to reach me. I'm a geek and am always online. Say hi: mike@mikewiacek.com.
Oh, what does lux pulchre mean?
I thought you'd never ask. It's Latin and it means: Light is beautiful.
What's your favorite color?
I'd have to say blue-green. It has been my favorite ever since I got my first 64 box of Crayola Crayons in 2nd grade.
Shoe size?
Somewhere between 11.5 and 12 US.
